The Ultimate Awesome Mix Tracker: A Gift for My Fellow Guardians

The Ultimate Awesome Mix Tracker: A Gift for My Fellow Guardians

Are you as obsessed with Disney Parks as I am? If you're here, the answer is likely a resounding yes.

Ever since the opening day of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, I have been completely hooked. I still remember pairing up with another solo rider just to maximize our chances for a Virtual Queue—and it worked! We snagged Boarding Group 5. Since then, the obsession has only grown.

Of course, I’ve got the attraction photos to prove it:

And obviously, I’ve collected every commemorative pin I could find:

The "Awesome Mix" Dilemma

We all have that one song we chase (for me, it’s September). I always feel like I'm not getting it enough! To settle the debate once and for all, I decided to put my creative-leader-meets-tech-nerd hat on and build something special.

Introducing the Awesome Mix Tracker.

I whipped up this cute little web app specifically for my fellow park-goers. It’s a simple, "endless" counter that lives right on your phone’s home screen and logs your ride songs directly to a private Google Sheet.

The purple boxes on the left show the total number of times you've hit each song. No more guessing—now you’ll know exactly how many times you’ve rocked out to Disco Inferno versus Conga. (I may still have to go to EPCOT on September 21st and ride all day just to boost my numbers, though!)

Make It Your Own

I wanted to share this with the community as a thank-you for following along with Parks & Prep Co. Whether you're a WDW Annual Passholder or planning your first "Big Trip," this is a fun way to gamify your day in Epcot.

I’ve packaged the entire app into a simple download. It uses Google Apps Script (which is free!), so your data stays private to your own Google Drive.

What’s in the download?

  • The custom code for the app interface.

  • The "brain" code that talks to your Google Sheet.

  • A step-by-step PDF guide to help you "launch" your app in under 5 minutes.

A Note on Installation (I swear it's easier than you think!)

The instructions inside the folder will walk you through the setup. You'll basically be creating a Google Sheet, pasting the provided code into the "Apps Script" section, and hitting "Deploy." Once you have your URL, just add it to your home screen, and you're ready for the Wonders of Xandar!

I hope you enjoy this little tool. Be sure to follow along for more theme park tips, resources, and gear from a self-proclaimed (and expert) obsessed park-goer.

See you at the Jump Point!
